Our Children’s Birth Charts
Curious About the Soul You’re Guiding Through Life?
Every living being—and every moment in time—has a birth chart. That astrological chart can serve as a sacred guide to understanding that being or moment more deeply.
I’ve looked at my child’s birth chart extensively. Obviously. I’m a curious astrology mom, and I want to know what my daughter might need from me and from the world. Of course, I can’t fulfill every quest her soul has set out to complete—but what I can do is understand her more fully, so I can support her journey.
What My Own Chart Taught Me About Parenting
One of my biggest pain points when it comes to my parents is that they didn’t truly understand me. They didn’t know that I have a Sagittarius Moon in the 8th house—a moon that craves expansion, depth, knowledge, transformation, and foreign lands.
They didn’t know that my Mercury sits in my 10th house conjunct Mars in Aquarius, making it essential for me to communicate and strive for a career in non-traditional ways. They might’ve thought, “She’s really a space alien.”
Sure, they knew I had a Pisces Sun, but they didn’t understand what it means to be a Pisces—to feel everything, to absorb the world’s energy. Perhaps if they had known this, they wouldn’t have labeled me an over-emotional little girl or medicated me too early.
If they’d understood my chart, they might’ve known to teach me coping skills for big emotions, to encourage rest when I was overwhelmed, or to nurture my Sag Moon by taking me on adventures, giving me books, or letting me explore spirituality.
They did their best—but they didn’t have the context. They didn’t know what my soul needed.
Looking at My Daughter’s Chart
Now, as a parent myself, I look to my daughter’s birth chart to understand her soul’s path and how I can support it.
She has a Gemini Moon in the 3rd house—a natural communicator who feels safe through connection, conversation, and learning. Her moon craves variety and thrives when she’s mentally stimulated.
That Moon forms a sextile to Venus in the 5th house in Leo, highlighting her need to create, express, and be seen for her gifts. She feels secure when she’s having fun, sharing her creations, or expressing her individuality.
Her Mercury in Virgo—strong in its domicile—shows refinement, detail, and precision in thought and speech. She might love learning about health, animals, or work that uses her voice. Yet Mercury’s opposition to Neptune in the 12th house means her imagination can sometimes sweep her away, so grounding her ideas will be key.
And then there’s Jupiter in Aries in the 1st house—big, bold, and unafraid to lead or speak her truth. A soul that must be supported in her bigness, not told to shrink.
How I Support Her Soul
So what do I do for my little girl?
I teach her—to fulfill her Gemini Moon.
I listen deeply, because she needs to be heard.
I praise her, because her Leo Sun thrives on love and recognition.
I let her color, paint, dress up, and express herself to satisfy her 5th-house joy.
I won’t be a perfect mother, but I will be one who sees her clearly—who honors her essence and loves her in her uniqueness.
The Gift of Astrology in Parenting
Understanding your child’s birth chart won’t make you a perfect parent—but it will make you a conscious one. It helps you recognize their emotional needs, learning styles, and soul’s purpose.
No more forcing the Aries Mars child (who needs movement and excitement) to sit still all day, or silencing the Gemini Mercury child who just wants to talk and share ideas. Instead, you can nurture them—sign the Aries up for sports, let the Gemini give presentations, and watch them come alive.
In the End
Astrology doesn’t tell us who our children should be—it shows us who they already are.
When we parent with that awareness, we give them the freedom to grow into their truest selves.
Let the stars be your guide—not to perfect parenting, but to soulful parenting.
